I couldn't be more impatient. Also, I couldn't be more excited. After about six months in my new diggs (thePinkHouse) some actual music is actually coming into fruition. By 'actual' I mean the coming together of the trax we have been recording, piece by piece, pretty much since I moved in. Though being extremely proud and enamored in imploring the DIY path that we have been tumultuously following, I want more than anything to share them with everybody (theWorld). There is still significant work to be done but hopefully by Summertime, errrybudddy can hear (and see) our shiiittttt.
If someone reading this is also a DIY artist, I would love to hear about your experiences and methods. There exists a significant learning process, as I imagine, for everyone's/band's specific DIY model/setup. So I would like to hear from any of y'all. How long did it take you to get the machine well oiled and running at an efficient pace?
Though this path has seemingly been taking forever and becoming, at times, frustrating, seeing some of the fruits of our labor begin to materialize is a reassuring reward.
Five Points Folk Friends (which, amongst others, will include Scott Roush, Kramer Kelling, and I) will be playing free tunes while the Retro Room (21st and Larimer) is giving away free drinks. 9-10 for freebie drinkies and 9-11 for free tunes.
Theeennnnn.....revenge of the 90's is happening next friday, march 30th. The 2nd annual conglomeration of numerous healthy Denver musicians (many of which r nineties kids) playing a strong mix of favorites from the decade of our salad days. This is at Stoney's (11th and Lincoln) and I will be performing a couple tunes.
